16 Statues, No Waiting

The groundhog may have been right. Three straight sunny days in the 50s and I’m ready to declare spring sprung.

We headed out to Puskas Ferenc Stadion (named for one of Hungary’s finest soccer players of the 40s, 50s and 60s) to soak up the sun and some serious communist era art. 16 heroic statues of athletes, workers, students, and farmers, most of whom apparently excelled without appropriate support garments.

The view isn’t worth the climb, but the socialist overlords got their money’s worth with the public art of that period.
