The Soup Nazi Is Alive and Well in Budapest


We were walking along Vamház Körút on our lunch break today and saw a line leading into a tiny restaurant. We decided to give it a shot, and now we know why. Two delicious cups of soup (African chicken w/peanuts and minted split pea) and szendvics (yep, sandwiches – a lovely curried chicken) for less than US$7. The name says it all – leves is soup in Hungarian – and as an added bonus, the Soup Nazi turned out to be a crew of personable young entrepreneurs who took pity on our fumbling Magyar.
